Goals and Objectives

The University implemented a number of goals, aimed at the ahead training of the specialists, in accordance with the current level of knowledge, actual practice and dynamics of the labor market.

Objectives

 

1. HIGH QUALITY OF TRAINING ACTIVITIES FOR THE PREPARATION OF QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS, ENHANCE ITS PRESTIGE AND COMPETITIVENESS OF MAJORS IN TRAKIA UNIVERSITY.

Main tasks:

• Alignment of study plans and programs with standards, regulations and trends for development in the European educational system.

• Improving the quality and competence in teaching, introducing innovative methods in teaching.

• Updating the existing and introducing new market oriented majors and programs for bachelors, masters and PhD, and postgraduate qualification in career.

• Continuous dialogue with business, users of stuff, governmental and non-governmental organizations, related to modernization of higher education.

Widespread promotion of majors and main activities of TrU to attract more foreign and Bulgarian students.

Introduction of new forms of admission for optimization of the access to the educational services for TrU.

• Encourage student and teacher mobility under ECTS.

• Diversification and competitive educational services, including e-learning, integrated learning in English, distance learning, enhanced language training and others.

• Finalizing of procedures for European accreditation for majors studied in Trakia university.

• Implementation of Management system for quality, certified of ISO 9001:2008, combined with precision internal and post-accreditation monitoring and auditing.

• Establishment of a unified lectronic information system for student access to all the information about the structure, content, procedures and stages of their training.

• Better organization and funding of the publication and distribution of academic and professional literature.

• Placing students at the center of the learning process, encouraging creativity and activity in the search for knowledge about the formation and professional self-development.

 

2. CREATIVE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ORIENTED WITH APPLIED VALUES OF SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTS.

Main tasks:

• Improving the system for development and participation of teacher stuff and students in research projects, providing of scientific forums at university, national and international level.

• Sustainable partnership with Bulgarian universities, scientific research institutes, business, government and non-government organizations in joint projects in the priority areas of Bulgarian science and practice.

• Teamwork and interdisciplinary approach to research development.

• Expanding the student participation in scientific-research activity.

• Creation of better conditions for professional development and scientific career of young teachers.

• Balance between fundamental and scientific applied research, active experimental, implementation and popularization work.

• Upgrading of equipment and facilities for scientific research.

• Accreditation and / or certification of scientific research and diagnostic laboratories and centers.

• Improving the organization and financing of publishing in TrU.

• Creation of new regional, national and international centers for educational, scientific and practical-application activity as auxiliary units to the structural units of TrU (consulting, advisory, diagnostic, curative and preventive, publishing, informational, etc.).

 

3. International cooperation based on communities of interest in order to greater international recognition of Educational Services and SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTS.

Main tasks:

• Enhanced international cooperation in developing joint projects, and contracting of Erasmus, Comenius, Lifelong Learning, 7 Framework Program and others.

• Encourage teachers contacts of teachers of Faculty and Departmental level with foreign universities.

• Establishment of joint programs with other foreign higher institutions in foreign countries.

• Continuing and expanding of the ongoing practice of creation of international centers at the territory of University for staff training and conducting of applied research seminars on issues of science and practice.

• Conclusion of contracts for the exchange of students and lecturers with foreign partner institutions.

 

4. IMPROVED STRUCTURE AND ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT OF UNIVERSITY WHILE MAINTAINING THE DELEGATED RIGHTS OF STRUCTURAL UNITS TO ENCOURAGE THEIR DEVELOPMENT, INCREASE RAITING AND COMPETITIVENESS.

Main tasks:

• Annual assessment of the status and trends in the functioning and development of TU in the changing conditions and realities.

• High level of academic ethics, freedom and social cohesion, improving  vertical and horizontal communication between different levels of management  and structural units of the University, as well as contractors and partners from the external environment.

• Use of different forms of advertising to inform the public about activities in Trakia University in order to promote them in the country and abroad.

•Administrative services for students, teachers and staff of Trakia university to European standards.

• Optimize the activities of the Career Center.

•Take actions for the creation of Balkan Association of Trakian universities.

 

5. FOCUSED PERSONNEL POLICY  FOR GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF ACADEMIC STAFF OF TRAKIA UNIVERSITY.

Main tasks:

• Periodic evaluation and analysis of the academic staff of the basic units.

• Maximum ensure of scientific fields and majors with academic rank with main contract at TrU.

•Motivate the best students to participate in competitions for PhD and lectures.

• Attracting guest lectures, prominent in science and practice teachers and specialists.

• Improving of the system of attestation of staff.

• Expansion of the student government and the active involvement of students in the labor of all controls in TrU.
 

6. QUALITY RENOVATION AND EFFICIENT USE OF FACILITIES.

Main tasks:

• Repair, maintenance and maximum utilization of equipment and technical resources, necessary for academic and experimental activities and improving the interior and exterior of the university environment.

• Construction and completion of priority projects: Central university library, campuses № 12 and № 13, residence, educational and experimental, clinical, sports and recreation facilities, museums.

• Gasification of the campus and other departments outside the Student City.
