The education in the Master’s program is designed to prepare highly qualified specialists in the fields of Social, Special, Preschool and Primary School Education. The curriculum is in compliance with the European requirements and standards. The programs offered give fundamental theoretical and specialized preparation for the successful professional realization and career development.
The master programs offered have a part-time form of education in the bachelor degree in the respective specialty or other specialties with the educational qualification degree “teacher”. The training finishes with a state exam or thesis defense. The successful students get an educational qualification degree “master in pedagogy” and may continue their education in the educational qualification degree “doctor”.
- For education in educational qualification degree “master” the candidates apply in the administrative office at the Faculty of Education.
- The classification of the candidates is in descending order of their competitive score and the order of the appointed specialized forms of training.
- The rating is calculated as the sum of the average grade of study and the average of state examinations (Thesis) in the higher school and any additional requirements that are specified for the Master's program.
- Training is conducted during the weekends without leaving work.
The period of training in the master's programs is 3 or 4 semesters (for professionals and non specialists), then training may continue in order to acquire a PhD.
For the Master’s programs "Public and educational management" and "Pedagogical and psychological counseling" the fee is 420 lev per semester.
Fees for training are updated at the beginning of each school year

The aim of the training in this program is to prepare public managers with a wide spectrum of activities in the state budget institutions nationwide and locally, non-governments organizations with an ideal purpose and public figures.
In the Master's program a wide range of traditional and alternative methods and tools are used based on:
- taking into account the needs and interests of learners;
- respect for the greater scope of freedom of the masters and their own experiences;
- take into account the interplay between the scientific knowledge and the management;
- disclosure of the systemic link between theory and professional activity.
Public management is a promising new direction, which covers the management of: education, social and health institutions, state public administration, management of NGOs and the management of various public organizations.
The Master's program covers knowledge of the basic and the applied sciences, which correspond to the integrative nature of public management. Knowledge of the general laws of public management, the ability to take decisions and shaping a quality manager is the essence of education.
In the Master's program one can acquire knowledge in the management of educational, social and health institutions, local government administration, NGOs, public relations.
The curriculum includes 11 obligatory, 3 elective, 3 optional courses and Probation Practice, within 495 hours. The training lasts 4 semesters and ends with a state exam or defense of a thesis.
Successful graduates of the Master's program acquire the qualification "public manager". They can be employed in the educational, social and health institutions, local administrations, NGOs, political movements and organizations. Our preliminary studies show exceptional need for this type of managers.

- Acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies for managing social and educational organizations and institutions and the quality of their work.
- Acquisition of knowledge and skills for social work with persons in social risk, regardless of their ethnicity, socioeconomic status, as well as differences in their physical and intellectual potential;
- Developing skills for effective management of human resources;
- Formation of capabilities to discover, develop and implement modern management technologies.

4.MASTER’S PROGRAM “SPECIAL EDUCATION (MODULES: SPEECH AND LANGUAGE DISORDERS (SPEECH THERAPY); RESOURCE TEACHER; MENTAL RETARDATION)”
The Master’s program is designed for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree graduates in Special Education, Social Education, Preschool Education, Primary School Education, Preschool and Primary School Education and other specialities with professional qualification “teacher”

Duration – 3 semesters
The Master’s program study provides:
- Knowledge of the innovative processes in theory and practice of the education of children with special educational needs and communicative disorders.
- Thorough theoretical preparation in accordance with modern tendencies of the education of children with difficulties in learning and school adaptation.
- Acquiring and expanding of knowledge about the diversity of alternative approaches and means of education of children with difficulties in studying in general education schools.
- Special preparation for the students in the problems of diagnostics, studying and school adaptation.

For candidates without teaching qualification - 4 semesters
The Master’s program is designed for candidates with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the specialities of “Education” field or other specialities. For candidates with specialities without teaching qualification an additional module is included in the program.
The program "Educational and Psychological Counseling" creates in students:
- knowledge of the theories in age development, social situation influence on behavioral models, basic theories and techniques related to the application of psychodynamic, behaviouristic, cognitive, client-centered and problem-oriented approaches of counseling, aims, stages and the essence of counseling;
- skills to identify the problems of personality, the stress-generating triggering factors, the mechanisms and interrelations of the crucial aspects of the individual development, making a psychological profile of the clients, making a counseling plan and counseling prognosis;
- competencies in the field of the applied type of counseling, based on the gravity of the client’s problems, formulating and dealing with cases, application of psychodiagnostic practices and result analysis. Here the role of the counseling person goes beyond the educational frames and the professional guidance of students and adolescents to the creation of a favourable environment for learning and development.
The Master’s program is designed for students who have a Bachelor’s degree in Preschool and Primary School Education, Preschool Education and Foreign Language, Primary School Education and Foreign Language, Special Education.

The Master’s program study provides:
- theoretical preparation in accordance with modern tendencies in science and practice of preschool education in the initial stage of primary education;
- special preparation in accordance with the Master’s program fields, related to the education interaction during preschool age and options of didactic technologies during initial school age;
- expanding of competencies for scientific research conducting activities
