        The Faculty of Education at Trakia University was founded on 03 July 2002 (Decree of the Council of Ministers 135, An Official/State Gazette №67/12 July 2002).
        On 06 Jan 2010 The Faculty of Education received a positive accreditation by NATIONAL EVALUATION AND ACCREDITATION AGENCY for the professional field of „Pedagogics” for the next six year.
       The new faculty inherits the best Bulgarian pedagogic traditions, dating from the Bulgarian Renaissance Age.
       The academic staff of the faculty comprises 2 professors, 21 associated proffessors, 19 assistants and instructors, working under a labor contract in 3 departments. There are more than 450 full-time and part-time students who study for a qualificational degree in „Pedagogics”.

Duration of program: 4 years for A Bachelor degree
 
·        Primary school education with a foreign language emphasis
Qualification: primary schoolteacher
Form of education: full-time
Duration of program: 4 years for a Bachelor degree
 
 
·        Special education
Qualification: special pedagogue
Form of education: full-time
Duration of program: 4 years for a Bachelor degree
 
·        Social education
Qualification: social pedagogue
Form of education: full-time and part-time
Duration of program: 4 years for a Bachelor degree
 
The duration of education of the overall course of study for a Bachelor degree is 4 years. There are 5 Master programmes with a duration of 3 to 4 semesters depending on the major’s special. Students can cotinue their education towards acquiring a PhD degree.

        From 2010/2011 academic year onwards students will be able to apply for a Master’s degree course following the requirements for state-sponsored admission.
